"For me, music is an inspiration!" - The story of Robbie Z
We are happy to present the story of another rising musician we had the pleasure to work with in the studio - Robbie Z.
When did you start playing music and how did you decide to start?
I've always had an interest in music. When I was about 6, I was in a children's choir. My first attempt to do a cover/recording in a studio was 6 years ago. It was quite tragic! I decided to do it more seriously in 2017, then I wrote my first song. I wrote it because I was going through a difficult period and I was very inspired by my favorite artist.
What is music for you? What did she teach you?
For me, music is an inspiration, it helps me escape from my problems, it gives me happiness even in difficult moments. It is a very big part of my everyday life! She taught me how to be purposeful, more disciplined, and helped me grow.
Who is your favorite artist or the one who has touched you the most? An album? A song?
My favorite artist is Iggy Azalea. She is the one who inspired me to start, I have been following her since 2014 and I can't describe how much she inspires me. I met her for the first time last year! My favorite album is The New Classic!
What are you working on right now? A new project, single, album, other?
I am currently working on several singles. I want to release a single every month until the end of the year! One single is called Chop Chop and is a collaboration with my friends! This is one of the funniest projects I've worked on so far.
What inspires your work?
Iggy is one of my many inspirations. Also, events from my everyday life very often inspire my songs. More precisely ... the negative events. I don't like to confront people when I don't agree with them, I prefer to pour my feelings into songs.
What is most important to you when choosing a recording studio?
The most important thing for me in a studio are the people you will work with. Recording a song takes time. It is important for me that they are professionals, understand my ideas and behave well. I went to studios where music engineers didn't predispose me to do my best, made me worry, and so on. The vibe is also important!
How can working in a recording studio upgrade a song or an album?
The people in the studio take the song to another level! When I compare the demo I recorded with my phone with the finished version, recorded and mixed in a studio, the difference is huge! Also, when you go to a studio, you work with other people, new ideas and different options come up that you didn't even think of before!
Which phase of the recording and post-production is the most key to achieving a good end result?
The professionals in a studio can transform a song, but no matter how good the mix is, if the recording is not good, the end result will not be successful in my opinion! Perhaps the record is the most important.
What is the most memorable event you had in a recording studio?
The most memorable? It's hard for me to say one ... Maybe last year when I recorded my whole mixtape 'REBELLIOUZ' in one day. I was sick, I thought I didn't have a voice, but I had a hard day, so I decided not to give up the time. I expected to record a song or two, but no, I recorded the whole project!
What services does he use in Urban House Studio and what are your impressions?
I have been trusting Urban House Studio for my vocal, mix and master recordings for almost two years and I can say that this is the best studio I have recorded in! They are professionals, they always know exactly what I want with a minimal explanation on my part and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to go to a recording studio!
What are your musical goals and dreams?
Dreams have to be kept secret to come true, but one of my goals for the near future is to go to a music university in Hollywood!
